Hello and welcome to 2023! We all can’t deny that Asake OWNED 2022 and we want to give him his flowers 💐…Also known as Ahmed Ololade, “Asake” took his stage name from his mother’s name. Growing up in Lagos, the Yoruba vocalist has been on the music scene since 2018 but didn’t blow up till he released his breakthrough song “Omo Ope”, which Olamide hopped on and “Sungba” which was taken to another level with Burna Boy remixing the track. He was later signed to Olamide’s label YBNL Nation.
Asake is a breath of fresh air on the Afrobeats music scene, mixing old Yoruba proverbs, fuji styles, and amapiano in his music. The fast rising star was catapulted to the main stage when he dropped his debut album “Mr. Money With The Vibe”, giving us hits like “Peace Be Unto You”, “Organize”, “Terminator”, and “Joha”. In 2022, he also kicked off his world tour in the US and UK, selling out the O2 Academy Brixton in London.
Mr. Money with the Vibe has blessed us with his eclectic sounds and vibes all year long. We’ve all been singing his songs nonstop. We can’t wait to see what he’ll have in store for us this new year! 👏🏾
